Exciting Partner for National School Spirit Day!

Varsity is thrilled to announce that Kendall Jenner has teamed up with us to promote National School Spirit Day!

Varsity started National School Spirit Day three years ago to shine a spotlight on all of the reasons why cheerleaders and dancers make such a difference in their schools and communities –as mentors, as community service leaders as spirit raisers and as positive examples to all.

Over the past two years, cheerleaders and dancers have pledged more than 200,000 community service hours as part of National School Spirit Day. We’re proud of the service cheerleaders and dancers perform all year for their schools and communities, and hope to help shine a spotlight on their great deeds nationwide.

As many of you know, Kendall Jenner, the 15-year-old sister of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, is a proud cheerleader on her California high school team. We’re excited to announce that Kendall has teamed up with Varsity to promote this year’s National School Spirit Day, which is 9.9.2011.

As part of her partnership with us, Kendall volunteered at Meals on Wheels on Monday, handing out Varsity water bottles and National School Spirit Day pins to all meal recipients on her route. The Costa Mesa High School cheerleaders, past recipients of our American School Spirit Award, helped her with the day.

Today, Kendall will make several appearances – on Access Hollywood, Extra and E! News—and talk about all of the ways cheerleaders and dancers are leaders in their community. We’ve agreed to allow them first rights to images, sound bytes, and b-roll, but at the end of the day, I will forward you the link to the FTP site where all of the material will be available for you to download.

Varsity will be the headquarters for all things Kendall for the next two weeks as we countdown to 9.9.2011. Follow the action on at the “Varsity Cheerleading & Dance” Facebook Page and at Twitter.com/Varsityupdates or visit Varsity.com and Nationalschoolspiritday.org to join the fun and help us spread the word about the thousands of great things cheerleaders and dancers make an impact in their communities.
