New Days of 2013 Worlds Competition and Why

USASF LogoSteve Peterson sent the following email regarding Worlds 2013:

Hey everyone,
I want to make sure everyone is aware of this change.

New days of 2013 Worlds competition and why:
April 27-29, 2013 (Sat, Sun & Mon)
Reasons:
– Do not want to be the same days as ICU …. because of the Team USA issues we had this year
– ICU / International “National Teams” growth may create a need for Jostens on Friday in 2013
– Will relieve kids needing to take their state’s Scholastic Testing (always on Fridays)
– Will now give us 2 venues on Day 1 (Saturday) for Prelim Rounds and US Worlds Trials, instead of just having Jostens

Thank you all!

Steve Peterson

Sorry testing in California is not on Fridays. It is over several days. Not sure what state this is applicable to and where that information came from. Perhaps you should ask parents. In fact for those in college many schedules are much lighter on Fridays then Mondays and Tuesdays. The fact that I know about the college matter is that my husband is a professor.

In Pennsylvania state testing is typically tues-thurs over several weeks. Agreeing with Ann, I would like to know what state this is applicable to and the variety of the athletes in your “focus group”.

  3. I disagree with the “Friday state testing” We NEVER have testing on fridays. But besides that reason, i agree with the Sat-Mon schedule!
