USASF Meetings 2011: Rules Process

The rules making process is being renovated. The next set of rules will be for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons. All proposals will be due by May 1, 2012, with current instructions being to email them to Les Stella. The voting slate will be created at the NACCC Doral Meeting which begins the day after Memorial Day. The slate will be discussed at each of the regional meetings, allowing for easier involvement for more coaches.

USASF LogoSome of the topics likely to have proposals and be discussed include:

  • Creating guidelines for Warm Ups, including staffing of medical personnel, minimum and maximum times between warming up and competing, the equipment in the warm up room, and the amount of time per station or on a full floor.
  • Minimum ages on divisions, specifically for All Senior Divisions, All Age Groups, and raising the minimum for Worlds divisions to 13.
  • Guidelines for Special Needs divisions, including Coaching requirements, competition guidelines, and exhibition guidelines.
  • Adding Open L4.

Another idea worth mentioning is creating an Event Producers organization similar to the NACCC for coaches.
