USASF 2011-13 Rules – Questions & Answers

Here are questions and answers we’ve been asked concerning the 2011-13 rules that were recently released. Feel free to Contact Us if you have a question not covered here and we’ll cover as many as we can.

General

• Are rhinestones on uniforms now illegal? Per Les “Nowhere does it say rhinestones are illegal. To the contrary, rhinestones on the uniform AND the skin are both now legal.”
• When will the iOS app be updated? Per Les “It won’t. The app has been nothing but trouble since it was created.”

Level 1

• No questions yet.

Level 2

• No questions yet.

Level 3

• Are real tick tocks legal in Level 3? Only if they start below prep level and end at prep level or below.
• Are switch ups legal in Level 3? Only to prep level or below.
• Are low to high tick tocks legal in Level 3? No because they do not start below prep level.
• Are ball up 360s legal in Level 3? Only if they start below prep level, do not exceed extended arm level, and end at prep level or below. No because release moves are limited to 1 trick or skill, meaning you can either ball up or 360, but not both.

Level 4

• Are low to high tick tocks legal in Level 4? No because release moves landing at extended level must start from the ground.
• Are high to high tick tocks legal in Level 4? No because release moves landing at extended level must start from the ground.
• Are twisting switch ups legal in Level 4? Only to prep level and below.
• Are ball up extensions legal in Level 4? Only if they start at ground level, not in a smoosh, and do not twist.
