NY Times: Born on Sideline, Cheering Clamors to Be Sport

The New York Times published Born on Sideline, Cheering Clamors to Be Sport.

While cheerleading evokes images of pompoms and pleated skirts, it has relied on increasingly athletic feats of grace and strength in recent years. As participants have perfected their basket tosses and pyramids, and mounted ambitious floor routines, a complicated and emotional question has arisen: has cheerleading become a true sport?

Yess ! Of course it is ! Being a cheerleader I obviously have strong opinions but I find Cheerleading is more of a sport then alot of ‘traditional’ sports . I consider this to be true because as my mom put it people can say what they want but the cold hard truth is these girls ( in our case ) work their buns off . We work so so hard . Cheerleading is a true and complex sport <3
