UPA Launches Peyton’s Promise

Minneapolis, Minn. (January 4, 2011) – UPA has announced it’s Peyton’s Promise, a fundraising program where 100% of online donations go towards finalizing an adoption. Lisa Saline, UPA’s Founder and President, initiated conversations with long-time colleagues Inside Cheerleading Magazine’s Chris Korotky, and Mary Novik of Fine Designs Imprinted Sportswear, to come up with a philanthropic program geared around adoption. The outcome was Peyton’s Promise.

After years of struggling with infertility issues, Lisa and her husband pursued adoption to complete their family. Back in 2002, they had a seven-year-old son, Dylan, who so badly wanted to be a big brother. A phone call early one morning blessed them with a healthy baby girl. Three year’s later they were blessed again with a healthy pregnancy and little boy they named Greyson completing their family once and for all. After going through the adoption process, the Saline’s quickly found out how expensive it was to complete an adoption. Often times those in the process simply run out of funds and the adoption falls through. Both Lisa and Roger wanted to do something to help.

At the 2011 AmeriCup Nationals in Minneapolis, UPA will donate $1 from every athlete package sold and a percentage from gate receipts to the cause. During the weekend of Nationals, February 24-27, 2011, at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Inside Cheerleading Magazine and Fine Designs will be offering fans an opportunity to donate and have their name displayed on a butterfly decal, the signature of Peyton’s Promise. 100% of butterfly donations will also go to the cause. Every $3,500 completes an adoption for a prospective family.

Inside Cheerleading Magazine first brought awareness to the spirit industry with its Making A Difference article featuring cheerleaders and their adoption tales. Fine Designs came up with the official Peyton’s Promise logo and will be selling Peyton’s Promise merchandise items on site with a percentage of the sales going to this cause. This collaborative effort by three amazing companies hopes to Bridge A FOREVER Family many times over.

By donating to Peyton’s Promise, every dollar brings one family closer to finalizing an adoption.

About UPA…

United Performing Association, Inc. began in 1987 with a young girl’s dream. Lisa Kubinski Saline was a twenty year old college student cheering professionally for the Minnesota Vikings, coaching a collegiate cheer/dance team in Minnesota and soon to graduate with a degree in Public Relations, Marketing & Speech Communications. Her dreams of owning her own business were encouraged by her father, an entrepreneur himself. So with a limited budget Lisa began UPA in the basement of her home. Twenty-four years later, Lisa and Team UPA have developed the company into one of the nations top contenders in the spirit industry. With traditions and a strong value system in place, UPA has become a household name around the spirit world with events such as the AmeriCup Championship, Easter Cruise Competition, Judge Certification Program, Eclipse Cup Studio Competitions and the Challenge Cup series to name a few.
