Last night the latest College Football Playoff rankings were revealed. The top 10 are the only teams remaining with a reasonable chance of making the playoff and becoming the national champion, and I’m not sure all 10 of them really have a chance. It will be fun to see how it all comes out because there are several game left in which these teams should play. Auburn and Alabama will play with the winner getting to play Georgia. Clemson and Miami should meet for the ACC Championship and Wisconsin and Ohio State should end up meeting for the Big 10 Championship. If any of these teams win out they should end up in the 4 team playoff. Ohio State may need some additional help, in the form of convincing wins or another team losing, but they still have hope. The top 10 were:
- Alabama
- Clemson
- Miami
- Oklahoma
- Wisconsin
- Auburn
- Georgia
- Notre Dame
- Ohio State
- Penn State
I think there will be a random upset that will knock one of these teams out of contention. I’m not sure who it will be, but that’s the beauty of college football. I also think Alabama is the only team that could lose and still have a chance of making the playoff.
