A Year Later

A year ago today, about the time this was published if I remember correctly, I was in surgery getting a defibrillator implanted into my chest. See A Long Week if you want a recap of that experience. Since then the defibrillator has done pretty much nothing, which is a good thing. It’s only supposed to do something if my heart does something wrong, or stops doing things right, so the defibrillator doing nothing is exactly what I want it to do. My doctor said it warmed up once due to my heart rate spiking above 180 following a run, but it didn’t do anything beyond that before my heart rate dropped to a normal pace.

Here’s to another year of it doing nothing.
