Google Apps

I often get asked about the tools I use to stay organized and deal with being on the road so much, so I’m going to start writing about some of them. The first is Google Apps. Google Apps is an email, calendar, and collaboration tool that allows you to use Google services with your domain, meaning I have an @andrejcarter.com email address that is powered by Gmail and can be used with Google Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Plus, and more. Using your own domain for your personal email address isn’t a big deal because having a personal @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, or @hotmail.com address is acceptable, but having a business one address is not. Your business email, no matter how large or small your business is, should use your business domain. This makes it easy for clients and potential clients to find your website and get more information about you and your services. To me it’s also a sign that you take your business seriously enough to invest in an online presence.

I’ll go more into advantages of using the individual Google Apps in later articles.
