Reflection 9/11

Ten years ago I remember my roommate banging on my bedroom door as I stepped out of the shower. My television was on Sportscenter. He came in said “Have you seen this shit?” and turned it to CNN. We saw smoke coming out of one of the towers and listened to them talked about a plane flying into it. At that point there was mass still confusion. They didn’t even know what sized plane, much less whether or not is was an attack.  Those questions were quickly answered when we watched another plane fly into the other tower. A lot has changed since then.

Web Advertisements

I got annoyed by an ad on the web this morning. I was listening to music, as I usually do when browsing, and clicked on a link to a photo gallery. I understand that websites want or need to make money so seeing placing an ad in front of the pictures wasn’t much of a surprise. The part I didn’t like was the format of the ad, a video. As I was listening to my music the audio from the video starting playing with it, making it so I couldn’t understand anything.

I would like to see the ad medium match the content. Seeing a video ad before viewing video content is fine because I’m prepared to see a video. Having a video ad for a picture gallery seems more intrusive.
